The agricultural sector is seeking new vectors of development: Kyiv hosts the key industry event of the year
On December 11, the capital will host the XVII International Conference “Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine”, which traditionally brings together leaders of agricultural associations, business, and government for an open dialogue about the future of the sector. The organizers The Association “Ukrainian Agribusiness Club” (UCAB) and the UCABevent agency set the main task: not just “box-ticking” presentations, but a joint search for realistic scenarios of survival and development for agriculture in 2026.
Ukrainian agriculture is now at a strategic stage of adapting to EU rules, amid the realities of a wartime economy, destroyed fields, and intense international competition.
Key challenges:
- new EU trade policies and directives
- global market transformations, climate risks, and increased competition
- war losses, complex logistics, expensive credit
Operational efficiency is no longer enough: farmers must look for niche products, create their own brands, and join forces. Without a balance of interests between exporters, processors, and producers, the sector will not withstand a new round of global competition for markets.
For the first time on one stage, leaders of all key agricultural associations will meet to jointly with the authorities define the development vectors of the sector in the face of uncertainty. At the center informal talks and lively discussion without “decorative optimism”, practical experience, failed decisions, and painful cases.
The organizers emphasize:
“The success of the next season is shaped by answers to today’s questions from export tariffs to logistics corridors and defense financing.”
Key topics of #DoAgro25: What will participants discuss
- Figures of the year: production, profitability, processing
- Agropolicy: expected legislative changes in 2026
- European integration: survival and profit in the new reality
- Industry challenges without embellishment: practical cases, shared pains
- Networking: a unique opportunity to find partners and exchange experience with over 20 top speakers from the market, associations, and government
Why this event is especially important now
- Kyiv the center of strategic planning: it is here that decisions are formed, affecting currency stability, bread prices, and employment in the regions
- New agropolicy = food security: coordinated actions of lobbyists and farm associations will ensure adaptation to new standards and global competition
- Consensus and trust: only dialogue and consolidation will help survive and find growth points
Within the conference, there will be an awards ceremony for the winners of the “Agro Champions. 10 Years in Agro” award by AgroPortal.ua ten companies and individuals who have had the greatest impact on the development of the sector over the past decade.
Guidance for participants and sector prospects
- Move away from raw material exports: invest in processing and brands.
- Digitalize management and logistics: this is already a competitive advantage.
- Prepare for tough EU eco-standards: “green transformation” is inevitable.
- Join associations: only together can interests be protected at the policy level.
