Apple has announced the introduction of satellite communication on new iPhones, emphasizing safety and independence from classic mobile networks. After launching the emergency messaging feature via satellite, the company is preparing the next step expanding capabilities that could ultimately change our usual perceptions of mobile connectivity.
Apple’s main idea is to make the smartphone as autonomous as possible even in the most challenging circumstances. This includes message exchange, photo transmission, navigation, and even support for third-party apps via the satellite channel.
