Charity evening in Kyiv: support for the Tymur special unit and frontline defenders
On July 22, the Fabius restaurant in Kyiv hosted a charity evening, “Meeting Under the Thermometer,” organized by the Safe Foundation. This was not only a cultural event, but also an example of how unity, humanity, and care can be as powerful as weapons on the frontline and in the rear.
The purpose of the evening was to raise funds for the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Center of Urology and Nephrology named after V.I. Shapoval, as well as to support the fighters of the “Tymur” Special Unit of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine. The event managed to collect 1,858,970 UAH a result made possible by everyone who joined the initiative.
The atmosphere of the evening was filled with music, humor, and sincerity. On stage were Misha Krupin, Kurgan & Agregat, and ROXOLANA. The hosts, Roman Mishcheryakov and Andriy Bedniakov, set an emotional tone where laughter and genuine tears of gratitude went hand in hand.
A special highlight was the presence of representatives from the “Tymur” Special Unit, who opened the event. The guests were addressed by fighters from different units: Roland (6th Special Actions Detachment), Bravyi deputy commander of the “Bratstvo” unit, Kakhovka (the “Stugna” unit), and Denys Vaitrex leader of the Russian Volunteer Corps. Their words became a symbol of unity and mutual support between the frontline and the rear.
The charity auction was the heart of the evening. The heroes Ruslan “David” and Ihor Yankov (“Yanki”), who directly defend the frontline, presented their special auction lots. The biggest contributions were collected thanks to truly unique items:
- an icon depicting Archangel Michael, crafted on the lid of heavy artillery shell,
- a boxing glove signed by Oleksandr Usyk,
- a rare photo of the legendary “Mriya” AN-225 taken in 2021 and signed by Olena and Volodymyr Zelenskyy (this lot brought in the highest bid 300,000 UAH).
The event was attended by representatives of the cultural, media, and volunteer communities: actors Serhiy Kysil, Nazar Hrabar, Daniel Salem, Volodymyr Rashchuk, Kateryna Vyshnya Vyshneva, and Maksym Lavrynenko (founder of the “Trukha” Telegram channel), along with other friends who continue to support Ukraine on every front.
The role of business that stands with the country is also significant. The general partner of the evening was SpeedWorks, a company that actively participated in organizing the event. Their involvement was acknowledged by Safe Foundation founder Yulia Fomina: “The energy, creativity, and social responsibility of our partners are the driving force that made this event possible.”
This evening is another example of how the joint efforts of those who care can support the army, assist medical institutions, and unite volunteers and businesses around truly important causes. In a time when the country needs everyone, such events show that strength lies in mutual support, care, and a shared sense of purpose.
